CARDIG-Jerusalem organizes its work into two tiers. Core scopes are the six disciplines the group is built around — every workshop, research line, and division maps back to one of them. Associate scopes are the neighbouring fields that meet cardiovascular care in practice: they are covered where they overlap, not as separate programmes. Naming both makes it clear what the group commits to, and what it touches.
Each one is a standing commitment: a field the group trains in, publishes in, and builds its divisions around.
Diagnosis and medical management of heart disease in adults — ischaemic disease, arrhythmia, valvular disease, and heart failure.
Congenital and acquired heart disease from the newborn period through adolescence, including fetal and transitional care.
Operative treatment of the adult heart and great vessels — revascularization, valve repair and replacement, and aortic surgery.
Surgical correction and palliation of congenital heart defects, from single-stage repair to staged univentricular pathways.
Open and endovascular treatment of arterial and venous disease outside the heart, including aneurysm and limb salvage.
Medical study and management of the vascular system — peripheral arterial disease, venous disorders, and lymphatic circulation.
These are not separate programmes. They are covered wherever they intersect a core scope — in a workshop, a case, or a research question.

Stroke and cerebrovascular disease where it meets cardiac and vascular care.
Metabolic disease as a driver of cardiovascular risk, and its management alongside it.

A core scope is a standing commitment. It shapes which divisions exist, which workshops run, and which research lines the group supports year to year.
An associate scope is addressed where it genuinely meets cardiovascular care — a cardio-oncology session belongs here because the heart is the subject, not the cancer.
Associate scopes are added as the group's work reaches them. A field that becomes central to the programme can be raised into the core list.
Proposals for workshops, events, and research are read against this framework first: if it falls outside every scope here, it is outside what CARDIG runs.
Members choose the scopes they want to build in. Whether your interest sits at the centre or at the edge, there is a place for it in the programme.
