Effective Date: September 5th 2025
The Cardiology Interest Group of Jerusalem (CARDIG-Jerusalem) medical education is committed to providing rigorously vetted, evidence-based educational material for students, trainees, and clinicians. All content must be founded on current scientific literature, authoritative clinical guidelines and primary sources; references should be provided where appropriate to permit verification and further study. Material intended to inform clinical decision-making must emphasize that it is educational in nature and not a substitute for individualized clinical judgment; authors must avoid prescriptive wording that could be misconstrued as direct clinical advice. Contributors are required to disclose any conflicts of interest, funding sources, or sponsorships associated with their work, and promotional or commercial content is strictly prohibited unless explicitly disclosed and approved by the Executive Board.
Accuracy, transparency and intellectual honesty are mandatory. Drafts of clinical summaries, review articles and high-yield notes must undergo review by a qualified reviewer or designated officer prior to publication; substantial clinical claims should cite primary evidence and, whenever possible, high-quality systematic reviews or guideline documents. All patient case material must be fully anonymized and compliant with applicable ethical and institutional regulations; identifiable patient information must never be published without documented, verifiable consent and institutional approvals. Corrections and retractions will be made promptly and clearly: any amendment must record the date of correction and, where relevant, the reason and the responsible editor.
Content should be written with clarity and appropriate clinical nuance so that learners at different levels can understand the material: summary and high-yield sections should highlight key learning points, the standard body should present comprehensive background and context, and clinician-level extras may include deeper guideline interpretation, laboratory norms, dosing considerations and references — each clearly labelled so readers understand the intended audience. Taxonomy and tagging must be used accurately to ensure reliable searchability, and gated or restricted content should be protected according to the library’s access policy. Intellectual property created for the CARDIG medical library remains the library’s educational asset and may be shared for non-commercial academic use with proper attribution; external contributions remain the property of their authors unless a written agreement transfers rights.
The Executive Board reserves the right to remove, edit or refuse publication of content that violates these standards, contains demonstrable errors, presents conflicts of interest without disclosure, or otherwise undermines the library’s educational mission. Reports of errors, concerns about clinical accuracy, or suspected ethical breaches should be sent to the Secretariat at secretary@cardig.me and will be handled confidentially and expeditiously. By maintaining these standards, the CARDIG medical library seeks to serve as a trustworthy, professional and responsible educational resource for the cardiology community.
