Membership Policy

The Pointing & Ranking System

Every appointment, activity, and assembly on a published scale: how CARDIG-Jerusalem measures member engagement, point by point.

Governed under CARDIG-Jerusalem Constitution · Effective December 1, 2025

What It Is

One scale, applied the same way to everyone.

This Policy sets the official framework for how points and ranks are assigned across CARDIG-Jerusalem. It stands as a subordinate instrument beneath the Constitution and Bylaws: wherever the two conflict, the Constitution and Bylaws prevail absolutely. Every officer, member, and assistant is bound by it; violations are treated as procedural misconduct under the Constitution and Bylaws.

Definitions

Four terms this Policy uses precisely

Officer, Member, Contributory Member, and Assistant are each defined once, and used consistently throughout.

1

Officer

Any individual formally appointed by CARDIG-Jerusalem to the Executive Board, the Supervising Council, or the Cardioscience or Cardiosupport Divisions.

2

Member

An individual enrolled in Student or Alumni Membership.

3

Contributory Member

An individual enrolled in an Honorary Membership.

4

Assistant

Any individual formally appointed by an eligible officer for academic, operational, or logistical support.

Section 2 · Ranking

Nine tiers, one running total

Your rank is a direct readout of your cumulative points, nothing else. Ranks run from NULL at zero points to A+ above one thousand.

Ranking is a targeting tool. Officers may design activities around the highest-ranked members when an event calls for proven engagement, or around lower-ranked members specifically to draw them in.

Research opportunities don't have to follow rank at all. The Cardiology Research Officer (CaRO) sets whatever selection method fits the opportunity.

Section 3 · Pointing

Four tables, every source of points

Positions, membership milestones, activities, and assemblies: each carries its own fixed award.

Section 4 · Final Provisions

Kept transparent, and kept unambiguous

Transparency

Every adopted Bylaw, policy, and Standard Operating Procedure is formally published by the Secretariat Office to the full Team of Officials, and archived to institutional record-keeping standards.

Interpretation

Ambiguity is resolved by the Cardiology Membership Officer (CaMO), whose interpretation is reviewed and approved by the Secretary. It is binding unless superseded by a formal amendment.

Questions

Your points are tracked. Your rank updates with them.

Officers log points as activities close. If a submission is missing or a total looks off, the Membership Office reconciles it.

Questions about your points or rank go to the Membership Office: office@member.cardig.me. This page summarizes the Member Pointing and Ranking System; where any difference arises, the Constitution, Bylaws, and the policy itself prevail.
